Vietjet Expands to New Destinations in India and South Korea

Vietjet, Vietnam’s largest independent airline, is rapidly growing its international presence. Recently, the low-cost carrier launched nonstop routes from Vietnam to Ahmedabad, India, and Daegu, South Korea. This expansion aligns with rising demand as the holiday travel season approaches.

New Routes in India: Da Nang to Ahmedabad

Since 2019, Vietjet has built a strong presence in India. Today, it operates more than 60 flights weekly across eight routes, linking Vietnamese cities like Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang with New Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, and Ahmedabad. The new Da Nang-Ahmedabad route strengthens Vietjet’s role as the airline with the most connections between Vietnam and India.

The inaugural flight on October 23, 2024, covered the journey in five hours. Vietjet now operates this route twice weekly, flying from Da Nang on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with returns from Ahmedabad on Thursdays and Sundays. This new, nonstop service significantly reduces travel time, enhancing convenience for travelers.

Why Da Nang to Ahmedabad Matters

Da Nang, often called Vietnam’s “most livable city,” is known for its beaches, markets, and historic sites like Hoi An and Hue. Meanwhile, Ahmedabad, a major city in Gujarat, India, draws visitors with its heritage, landmarks, and vibrant cuisine. By connecting these destinations directly, Vietjet is promoting both tourism and cultural exchange.

Strengthening Ties with South Korea: Nha Trang to Daegu

South Korea has long been a vital market for Vietjet. Now, after a decade of consistent investment, the airline has launched its 12th nonstop route to South Korea, connecting Nha Trang and Daegu. Over the past ten years, nearly 11 million passengers have traveled on Vietjet’s Vietnam-South Korea routes.

On October 27, Vietjet flight VJ870 took off on the new Nha Trang-Daegu route, a four-hour journey. Operating daily with an Airbus A320, this route makes travel easier for both tourists and business travelers.

Nha Trang and Daegu: Popular Destinations

Known as the “Pearl of the East Sea,” Nha Trang offers clear beaches, luxury resorts, and cultural sites. Daegu, on the other hand, blends traditional charm with a modern tech scene. In 2024, South Korea has become Vietnam’s largest source of tourists, with 3.3 million South Koreans visiting so far. Vietjet’s new route addresses this demand, providing a convenient option for travelers between Nha Trang and Daegu.

Vietjet’s Expanding Network Across Asia

Vietjet now operates over 300 weekly flights between Vietnam and South Korea, connecting major Vietnamese cities with Seoul, Busan, and Daegu. This expansion reflects Vietjet’s commitment to providing accessible travel options across Asia.
